OnList Directory and Listing script uses the built-in <a href=\"https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/Roles_and_Capabilities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WordPress role attributes<\/a>. So if you are familiar with WP then this should be easy to do. If not then here you go:<\/p>\n<p>From the Admin page go to <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Settings &gt; General<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-560 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/tradesouthwest.com\/onlist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/olinst-1.png\" alt=\"instruct\" width=\"612\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tradesouthwest.com\/onlist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/olinst-1.png 612w, https:\/\/tradesouthwest.com\/onlist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/olinst-1-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Be sure to add<span style=\"color: #808000;\"> Anyone Can Register<\/span> &#8211; or no one will be able to register.<\/p>\n<p>By default, WP uses <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Subscriber<\/span> as the Default Role. You will want to set OnList User Roles to <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Author<\/span>. This will allow any new registered person to add a Listing.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent spam registration, use the User Role of <span style=\"color: #008080;\">Subscriber or Contributor<\/span>. You will have to manually approve each new User but will have more control this way.<\/p>\n<p>You may choose to shut off <span style=\"color: #808000;\">Anyone Can Register<\/span> and install a <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/search\/membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Membership plugin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you only have a <strong>single user or team<\/strong> using the OnList plugin you may choose to turn off membership altogether.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>User Roles are a way for WordPress to keep track of who can do what on your website.
